You finally did it. You booked your Disney Cruise Line vacation! You're counting down the days, but soon comes the next task on the agenda: packing. Maybe this is your first Disney cruise or you're a seasoned Castaway Club member. Either way, we could all use suggestions for what to pack. After completing both European and Caribbean Disney cruises this year, I have compiled a list of my favorite items that really came in handy while on the best vacation ever!
Drink Tumbler
At the very top of my list are these Disney-themed insulated tumblers from Simple Modern. These are a great way to take your drink on the go, without spending extra money for sodas at the various bars and lounges aboard the ship. Simply fill it up at the drink station (usually located on the same deck as the buffet) and you're good to go! I love these because they come in lots of cute Disney designs and have two lid options: a straw or a sipper. This was absolutely the most-used item on both of my trips this year.
Snorkel Set
If you're going to be traveling to Castaway Cay and have room in your luggage, I recommend investing in one of these small snorkel sets. The cost ends up being about the same as a rental, but you end up getting better equipment which will surely make your snorkel experience more enjoyable. My favorite thing about this particular set is the sealing valve, which helps prevent water from entering the breathing tube. Plus, you'll have a set on hand when it's time to book your next cruise!
Trendy Fanny Pack
Chapstick, cell phone, hand sani, and Key to the World card... when you're on a large ship, you definitely don't want to be running back to your stateroom for forgotten items. I kept all of my necessities in this handy fanny pack. I was extra thankful for this on the Wish, because that ship is huge! It saved me many a long walk back to the room. And the best part? It's super cute, too!
Magnetic Hooks
Stay with me, because this one actually makes a lot of sense. Staterooms aboard cruise ships tend to be small, and that's especially the case for interior rooms. You're going to want some extra hanging space for hats, swimwear, and anything else that can fit on a hook. Oh, and did I mention that the room doors are metal? That makes them perfect for affixing these magnetic hooks to! This set is particularly strong, and won't slip down or wind up on the floor.
Swimwear
It goes without saying: you're going to want to bring some swimwear! Check out this adorable Minnie Mouse women's one piece on Amazon. They have tons of cute options for kids, too! Whether it's a one piece, bikini, tankini, or swim dress, make sure to choose a style that you feel most comfortable and confident in. And don't just save it for the beach either. Make sure you enjoy the ship's swimming pools and water slides, too! My sister and I were big fans of the AquaMouse aboard the Wish.
Pirate Costume
Don't forget about Pirate Night! Every Disney cruise has one, and you'll want to be in character to join in on the fun! This cute pirate skirt is super unique and I didn't see anyone else wearing one on either of my cruises. Pair it with a ruffly peasant top and some swashbuckler boots and you've got the perfect pirate outfit!
